Taking Risk

Hey loves!

I have seen this trend all over Pinterest where people have been wearing shirts and legging under their dresses. I have been on the fence about trying that look out on myself until I styled a mannequin that was wearing a dress with a printed tee.

Taking Risk

Fashion is all about experimenting. Sometimes that involves leaving your comfort zone. So I decided to style a white t-shirt under my plush pink velvet dress paired with a pair of floral Adidas sneakers.

What am I wearing?

Dress: Forever 21.

Shoes: Adidas.

Accessories: Apple watch and Windsor.

Makeup: Bare Minerals Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream, Anastasia Dipbrow, Bare Mineral Volumizing Mascara, Bare Minerals Eyeliner, Bare Mineral Lipgloss, and Profusion Eye Shadow & Highlight.

Hairstyle: Twist.

xoxo,

Asya

What’s the latest happening on Caution District

I have been doing a lot of spring cleaning on the blog today. Over the years of I have changed a lot about the content I produced. I have also been reflecting on the daily blogs that are posted on this platform. Right now I am not in a creative overflow to produce daily blog posts of value. To bring my readers more value I am going to start four days out of the week. The days that I will be posting are Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Monday through Friday the posts are scheduled to release at 8 am EST. Sunday’s post is scheduled to be released at 10 am EST. This change will give me more time to create better and more meaningful content.

Current Blogging Series Rundown

We have two blogging series going on right now on Caution District. The How To Be A Dreamer series and the newly released series Confessions Of a Blogaholic. The How To Be A Dreamer series focuses on what it takes to get in a dreamer’s mindset and how to make your dreams a reality. The Confessions Of a Blogaholic is a series that express the ups and downs of the what it takes to be a successful blogger with killer content.

What’s Been Axed?

All good thing must come to an end, right? With much thought gone into the decision Asya’s Dishing Out The Issues will no longer be featured on Caution District. I have decided to move those type of blog post to my (personal) yet still public Tumblr page.

Asya Dishing Out The Issues Cosmopolitan (She who dares, win…) June 2018

Hey loves!

On The Cover: The freckled face Kesha is gracing the fearless issue of Cosmo. I am excited about this issue. I have been a fan of Kesha since the fifth grade. Your love is my drug was my friends and I jam for sleepovers!

Inside the magazine: I enjoyed the classic sections Dates Hell and Too Funny. There were really good articles as well. Fearless was a good theme and very fitting

Kesha’s Interview

I adored this interview with Kesha. I especially enjoyed the part where she talked about the Grammy moment where she performed her song Praying with over female artist. That performance in my eyes was truly powerful because it displayed women supporting other women. Keisha was completely transparent in this issue and had nothing to hid.

Afterthoughout: Check out the articles on Cosmo.com To be honest, if my mom didn’t subscribe to the mailing subscriptions of magazines I would just read them on the magazine’s website.

How To Get Over Writer’s Block

Hey loves!

I have gone four months strong postng daily content for Caution District until about a couple of days ago. I hit the writer’s block wall and was drawing blanks. I couldn’t think of a single thing that was worthy of posting. So I thought why not turn this into an opportunity to share my struggles. I decided to start a series on blogging since my recent post have been about this subject.

How To Get Over Writer’s Block

  1. Find inspiration in the small things in life. For example, going for a walk in nature, watching a TV show or movie. I find a lot of inspirations in movies especially feel-good movies.
  2. Stop thinking about creating and document your experience. I am doing exactly what this bullet point states right now. I am documenting my experience of writer’s block and creating a series from my blog.
  3. Write down all your ideas, even the bad ones. When it does not seem creativity is flowing you have to look at the situation differently. At the moment of writing down your ideas you may think they are terrible. Hours later with a different mindset and fresh a set of eyes, those same ideas could be just what you needed to jumpstart your brainstorming.
  4. Try to tune out the noise in your life. When creating an environment to cultivate creativity try listening to classical music. Low-key classical music is a guilty pleasure of mine. I even created a playlist on Spotify called classically wildin’.
  5. Don’t over think the content you are producing. Just let whatever flow out on to the paper or the computer. Come back hours or even next day to edit the content on the paper to your liking. I find in the editing stage of content creating is when my creativity is at a peak because it all my ideas come naturally.

-Caution to the wind

Asya Alert (food for thought edition)

Hey loves!

This weekend I took a break from all my platforms to hang out with family. Not going lie I needed that break badly. I was burnt out completely. Sometimes I forget it’s okay to lay around with family and watch movies or go out for a meal. I have been a work and more work mindset. I started to see breaks as toxic because I am supposed” to be in a 25/8 grind mode according to some people. Which leads to my next point be yourself 200% of the time always! Listen to your insists and trust them because I promise you 9.5 times out of 10 they are leading you in the right direction. Also, don’t ask someone their opinion if you truly don’t care what they think.

Just a little food for thought to chew on this Mother’s Day. Happy Mother’s Day to all the boss women making it happen for themselves and their family! I am in awe you all.

Before I forget the count for the double feature of Spotlight is in the works! I am on cloud nine and can’t wait to share this issue with you all.

Confessions of a Habitual Nail Salon Devotee Pt. 3

Hey loves!

I chopped off my acrylic overlay nails for my natural nails! Since December my nails had an acrylic overlay over them. While I love going to the nail salon to get them done I need a break. Summer is the best time for everything natural nails to be present. With that said let’s get into this post.

Confessions of a Habitual Nail Salon Devotee Pt. 3

Summer is a time when we all are outside a lot doing activities and having fun. Having artificial nails, acrylic nails, and even gel nail get in the way of having the best time. I can not tell you how many times I have broken a nail after leaving the nail salon a few days before and it ruins the fun. Instead of enjoying the moment I am thinking about how I need to fix the broken nail ASAP. Here is some reason having natural nails for the summer season is the best decision to make.

  1. Your hands will think you for the breather. Constantly going to the nail salon can take a toll on your natural nails and could cause them to become weaker.
  2. You will save a good amount of money. My mindset right now is all about living in the moment and making experiences. Which you need money to do, so skipping out on your getting your nails will help with that.
  3. You can do your nails at home. Make it a self-care day. Put in a facial mask and draw a nice fancy bath featuring essential oils and bath bombs.

My nail page is located under the beauty tab. Down below are my previous at-home and salon nail care post. Be sure to check them out!

Dreamers (Motivational Youtubers & Entrepreneurs) Who Took The Leap

Hey loves!

This post is the fourth installment in the How To Be A Dreamer series. I have been receiving so many positive comments from readers expressing how much this series is inspiring them. For this post in the series, I thought it would cool to look at people who followed their dreams. It is no secret that I love YouTube and have aspirations of being a Youtuber. Content creators and entrepreneurs are some of the biggest dreamers because they risk their entire worlds in the hopes of reaching success and self-employment.

Dreamers (Motivational Youtubers & Entrepreneurs) Who Took The Leap

  1. Gary Vaynerchuck https://youtu.be/AS-ycudM-iw
  2. Refusing To Settle (Clark Kegley) https://youtu.be/isPhOFhv_scBri Hall https://youtu.be/52IyqGfBMCk
  3. LilyLikecom https://youtu.be/6_iVoeFdDGs
  4. Boho Beautiful https://youtu.be/FlSjmCzPiSk
  5. Jay Shetty https://youtu.be/K8BGkoJv6gg

The names above are just some of the few (hardworking) dreamers who are killing the games in their niche online. Most of them started out with one thought. They wanted to be to be free of the mundane singular societal path. They all leaped out on faith no matter how long it took them to reach their goals. That’s all it takes! One leap and a ton of hard work for your dreamers to become a reality like these other dreamers in the list above. I ask that you check out some of the videos from the people I mentioned. I promise you will not regret it at all!

Quick & Easy Vegetarian Wrap

Hey loves!

I don’t always have a lot of time to prep and cook meals, so I love to prepare quick healthy and easy meals to make. Emphasis on healthy because most quick and easy food isn’t the best option to consume. All the ingredients I will be cooking with I got from my grocery trip to Target. Without furthermore to say let’s jump into the how to make a quick and easy vegetarian wrap.

Quick Vegetarian Wrap

img_3481

Ingredients Used in the Quick Vegetarian Wrap

  • Cheese
  • Vegan beefless ground
  • Flour Tortillas
  • Cilantro
  • Salsa

First

img_3485

I add cheese to the flour tortilla wrap.

Second

img_3486

I warm up the beefless ground to add to the wrap.

Third

img_3484

I put the wrap in the toaster oven to cook for a total of four minutes and thirty seconds. I flip the wrap on the other side about two minutes in so it can cook equally on both sides.

Finally

img_3487

I cut up the wrap and plate the food with a side of salsa

Man’s Closet Turned Into A Woman’s Paradise

Hey loves!

I posted on my Instagram over the weekend about a series that I use to do on Caution District about turning a man’s closet into a woman’s paradise. I find wearing guy clothing is edgy especially when the clothing doesn’t look masculine at all. In the picture below I am wearing a hooped men’s shirt that I bought from Forever 21. The rips in the shirt really caught my attention because I have been looking for a dress like that since last fall.

What am I wearing?

Shirt: Forever 21 Men.

Shoes: Nike Air Force 1.

Accessories: Target (Socks & Earrings), Pandora (Bracelet), and Apple (Watch).

Makeup: Bare Minerals Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream, Anastasia Dipbrow, Bare Mineral Volumizing Mascara, Bare Minerals Eyeliner, Bare Mineral Lipgloss, and Profusion Eye Shadow & Highlight.

Hairstyle: Curly Down & Out.

Asya Dishing Out The Issues: Next Level Passion

Hey loves!

I have received a bunch of new May magazine in the mail. These issues that I will be reviewing the editors were not holding back at all. I love the strong political, activist-driven and take charge attitudes powerful the May issues took. In all three magazines, there was very little fluff. The mags did represent fashion, style, life, and beauty that I love to read about, but it was so much more than surface level. I was really impressed!!

Asya’s Dishing Out The Issues: Shape May 2018

img_3488

On The Cover: On the cover is a intriguing ginger that I have no idea who she is. All I knew is her eyebrow and makeup is beat for the gods.

Inside the magazine: This was my first time ever reading Shape magazine so I had no idea what to expect when I cracked open the pages of this issue. Once I open the magazine I thoroughly enjoyed it. After reading the editor’s letter I learned Shape is rebranding period since launched 37 years ago.

Kate Mara Interview

I really enjoyed this interview. I relate a lot to Kate. I love that she is an animal activist and vegan because I am too. I want to do more animal activist in the future. Maybe even partnering with PETA. I use the PETA website often to find vegan snacks, meals, and grocery products.  I focus more on becoming a more of a vegan than vegetarian. I have cut quite a bit of animal products out of my diet expect cheese on occasion. I have found a vegan cheese brand that I am loving so being a fulltime vegan shouldn’t be that challenging.

Afterthoughts: It was a nice read. I can see myself reading more and more magazine issues from this mag!

Asya’s Dishing Out The Issues: Vogue May 2018

img_3506

On The Cover: On the spring fresh cover is a dazzling and stunning Amal Clooney. I love that Amal decided to grace the Vogue because she is cut from a different cloth than the people who normal grace the cover. Amal is of substance so seeing her on the cover I automatically knew that the content in this issue would not have any fluff!

Inside the magazine: The inside did not disappoint at all. The articles were packed full of informative and controversial topics. I am in awe of the brave women who spoke their truth and stood up for what they believe in when the odds were against them.

Amal Clooney Interview

I didn’t know much about Amal before reading this interview expect that she is a world class woman that happens to be married to George Clooney. The interview was very informative and quite interesting at some points. The only downside was the length of the interview. Beyonce’s interview for Vogue wasn’t even this long.

Afterthoughts: Vogue really brought it in this issue! The articles were so well written and informative. I wouldn’t recommend buying this issue, but I would say go on Vogue.com to read the articles that were featured in this issue.

Asya’s Dishing Out The Issues: Essence May 2018

img_3497

On The Cover: On the bold black and white filtered cover is a stern Kerry Washington. I could tell that this issue was going to be tackling some serious issue because of the color scheme.

Inside the magazine: The cover was just the tip of the iceberg. Once I opened the issue and started reading the first couple of pages I knew this issue wasn’t going to disappoint. This is one of the best issues from Essence that I have read. This was definitely all about women in power. One of my favorite parts of this issue was WOKE 100. I learned a lot about topics that I never knew anything about.

Afterthoughts: This is a must read and a must buy!

Kerry Washington Interview

The interview was nice, sweet and straight to the point! Kerry talked about the ending of Sandal, the #Time’sUp movement, and starting her own production.
