My Life

Selma

Hey how is MLK Day going for you?

As you can tell I’m posting really early today it’s because of MLK Day. This MLK Day I think everyone should go see Selma, I saw the movie and my eyes opened to what people did for me to get my rights. I am thankful for everyone who saw there was something wrong in the county that we live in and wanted to help to make it right. I know that we have a lot of stuff that still needs to change, but we are making progress slowly, but surely. Selma is base on the historical story of getting voting rights for African Americans in Alabama. A lot of events happened showed what African Americans had to endure just to vote in this country that my ancestors were forced to come. One example is Bloody Sunday. This movie should be a must-see for everyone of all ages. The song that Common and John Legend did should be bought by everyone on iTunes because that song gives hope and hope is running very low now a days.
