Poetry Confessions No. 1

Hey loves!

Is a form of literature that uses aesthetic and rhythmic qualities of language—such as phonaesthetics, sound symbolism.—to evoke meanings in addition to, or in place of, the prosaic ostensible meaning.

The more and more I explore the writing world the closer I come to finding the type of person/ writer I want to be. Poetry is a type of writing that has been clawing at my interest for the longest while lately. To be honest, poetry was a type of writing I never enjoy because my view of the art was so narrow. In school when we were assigned projects that dealt with poetry, I dreaded. Poetry in that time for me was for people who were not of this world. I thought it was cool as hell how deep and soulful someone could get; pouring their soul onto the canvas conveying a personal story to the masses. It takes major guts; something I didn’t have at that time.

** These are pieces from my personal journals and are attempts at poetry** Enjoy and leave your thoughts in the comments ☺.

Poetry Attempt No.2 4/4/16

You would think it to be winter by the way the cold air invaded my lungs

Coughing out as the yellowish wind that took over my face

Knowing that spring was near as soon as the buds were penetrated by the black and yellow creature.

Waiting I lied for the new bloom to blossom in hope that I could bloom too.

I could do better, I told myself not matter how bad it gets.

Like an empowered beautiful red rose surrendered by thorns

I would make it through this rough patch.
