Miami Diaries: Day 1 – 4

Hey loves!

Happy Holidays to everyone I hope you are enjoying the day with your friends and family! My family and I are celebrating the holidays in Miami this year with my mom’s side of the family. We will be in Miami until the first of the New Year!

Hotel

Doubletree By Hilton Grand Hotel Biscayne Bay Miami, Florida

The View

We are staying at the Doubletree By Hilton Grand Hotel Biscayne Bay Miami, Florida. The views that are seen at this hotel is absolutely amazing! Our room is right on the bay. Like, the Hilton Resort room in Myrtle Beach I can see the ocean from my bed. We are on the eighth floor and the view across from the elevator when walking to the room is spectacular as well. The views really level up this hotel from being average. If this hotel didn’t have the views it has it wouldn’t be anything extraordinary. .

The service

We have been at this hotel for four days now and the service has been okay. Like I mentioned earlier we are right in the bay and with a picture perfect view of the Miami skyline which means this hotel is crazy expensive because of the views. The housekeeping at this hotel is slow and lackadaisical. In my family’s first night at the hotel, we had to call down to the hotel front four times in order to get a microwave in the room. The housekeeping people didn’t deliver the microwave until the second night of our stay. On the second night of our stay, we requested an extra blanket for the pullout sofa in the room five different times and the blanket didn’t arrive until the following day. The housekeeping did not clean our room not once before our four day at the hotel. When all of our concerns were brought up to the front desk they apologized and tried to give us more Hilton points in return for the mediocre service that we had been experiencing. I’m am truly shocked by the service at Hilton because were diamond members and have never experienced this before. We still have a few days left on our trip hopefully the Doubletree will redeem themselves in the hospitality department of this hotel.

Food

I am not going to mention all of our meals because some of them we eat at chain restaurants and for some go the meals I forgot to take some pictures.

Breakfast

For breakfast, we have three different restaurants that we can choose from to eat. The first one is a steakhouse, the second is a bakery and the third one is a deli. We have eaten at the deli and the steakhouse this trip and they both have pretty good food. The fresh made french toast has been my go-to for breakfast most days.

Lunch

The best lunch we have been since we’ve been here has been the Hard Rock Cafe! Their cauliflower buffalo wings are crazy good.

We tried a Mexican restaurant in the Lincoln Road mall area named El Macho’s. It was okay nachos my mom enjoyed it more than I did.

Dinner

I’ve been to one of the local pizzerias named Pizza Pazza twice and their thin crust has been amazing both times.
