American Tries Brazilian Candy

Hey loves!

A family friend’s grandmother came to the states from Brazil yesterday and she brought a bunch of goodies with her.  She was telling us that Brazil doesn’t have as many sweet treats as the United States. She spoke fluent Portuguese and English so it was fun learning Portuguese and interact with her. I’m excited to try this candy. it reminds me of when I was in Mexico and brought back candy for my friends and classmates to try.

Bala Juquinha Tutti Frutti

img_0801

This candy tastes amazing! At first, it tasted like a fruity cough drop taffy then it turned into a chew gusher without the juice.  To be honest it was better than any American candy I’ve tried. It was hard to describe what American candy the tutti-frutti tasted liked.

Serenata de Amor

This candy is a chocolate covered waffle with a toffee center. I didn’t care for this piece of candy. It’s a little lackluster for my liking. The American sweet that I would compare this piece of candy to is a chocolate waffle cone.

Carmel Peanut Bar (I don’t know the Brazil name)

img_0797

This candy taste like Crunch N Munch popcorn. It even smells exactly like the Crunch N Munch popcorn. I don’t really like the sweet treat that much. The caramel was very sticky and too sweet for me.

Clamel AB Sobremesa A base de Batata Doce

This piece of candy smells like strawberry baby food. This candy has a very sugary consistency. The inside of the candy has a strawberry gel center. I don’t really like this candy at all. The American candy I would compare it to is candy apple mix that isn’t fully mixed yet.

Chocolate Bar (I don’t know the Brazil name)

img_0794

This candy smells spicy. This piece of candy is not chocolatey at all. This candy is fruity. It’s like an American fruit snack in a compact bar that looks like a chocolate bar. The verdict is still out on how I feel about this sweet treat.

7 Belo

img_0798

This candy taste like a banana flavored taffy. It smelled very sweet. I really like this candy a lot. Like the first candy on the list, this candy was one of my favorites.

Pacoquita

img_0811

This piece of candy smells like peanut butter. This piece of candy looks like square of  peanut better. It taste like Reese without the chocolate. This piece of candy made it to number three of my favorites from the pieces I have tried.

My Favorite Winter Outerwear

Hey loves!

My favorite thing about winter has to be the hoodies, pullovers, and jackets! I have a lot of new outwear that I have been loving. As you all know I am an Adidas feen so most of these new purchases are Adidas items.  Without furthermore let’s jump into this post!

First, on the list is a hoodie I bought from PacSun. I had never seen an Adidas hoodie design like this one. The patterns and the detail are everything. The one thing that I love most about the hoodie is the stitching of the Adidas logo. I am starting to love embroidery. I would pay good money for an embroidered piece of clothing because I know it will last.img_0248img_0238

Second, on the list is another PacSun Adidas piece that is very versatile. This piece can be worn in both the winter and spring which is what I will be doing. I wore this piece in the heat of Miami and the frostbit of Atlanta. This cropped sleeve pullover is a must-have in every winter wardrobe.img_0406img_0420

Next, on the list is the classic black Adidas pullover! I bought this pullover from Zumiez. This black pullover is extremely comfortable. It’s my go-to lazy day pullover. This pullover is the best for those roll out of bed effortless chic outfits.

img_0183img_3585

Last, on the list is my Golden State Warriors windbreaker hoodie. This hoodie isn’t as cozy as the other outwear I mentioned before. What I like most about this hoodie other than the embroidered logo is that it’s pretty out there. I would not normally wear such colors together. Every time I wear this hoodie it makes me push my style limits.

This outfit could have been styled better.

My Current Skincare Regimen

Hey loves!

Yesterday, I teased a skin care routine in my post and got some positive responses on my snapchat and my DM’s on Instagram. Let’s jump into my skincare regimen!

img_2054

I started my routine off using St. Ives Apricot facial scrub. This scrub is the best exfoliate that I have used. I have been using this product for about two years. The St. Ives skincare line is amazing for all skin types! I highly recommend it. img_0762

Next, I used my favorite facial mask. It’s a clay mask that tightens my skin for a deep clean. This clay mask is similar to an egg white DIY mask I use to use. I love using this mask once a week.

After, I took the clay mask off I put on my Biore nose strip. I have not used these strips for a while. I am glad there was a Biore sample in the recent Cosmopolitan issue because it reminds me that I need to start buying the strips again for my skin routine.

img_0771img_0772Lastly, in my routine, I used another sample for the recent Cosmopolitan issue that was a moisturizer. This moisturizer is from Olay and it smells amazing! The finish of the product was very lightweight and non-greasy. I would recommend the product and I am buying the full size of the sample I tried. Along with the moisturizer I used beauty oil on my neck to keep it staying youthful (lol).

Asya’s Dishing Out The Issue: Cosmopolitan March 2018

Hey loves!

On The Cover: The new layout of Cosmo’s March issue has Mandy Moore sparkling in a sequin jumper. The color scheme on the cover threw me for a loop though. Why does Cosmo have a Halloween color scheme in the middle of March issue? My suggestion is that the orange should be more pastel or if the orange is going to be that bright they shouldn’t have used purple or black on the cover.

Inside the magazine: This is the issue of the skincare samples and I love it! The “sexier skin 2.0” delivered and then some. I will definitely be adding some of the beauty tips and tricks into my skincare regimen. I’ve always loved stripping with Biore and the sample in this issue reminded me of that. I’m glad Cosmo provided a coupon for this product because skincare can get expensive. This issue had a lot of products that I need to add to my must-try list. (Expect to see the samples from this issue in my skin regimen post soon). From reading the style section in this issue it looks like sequin has made a comeback. To be honest I don’t know how I feel about this trend because I have never been a sequin wearer. With that said I would not be opposed to wearing one sequin outfit to see if I like the trend and if it works for me or not.

Mandy Moore Interview

This was one of the best Cosmo interviews I have ever read! The interview displays Moore as a girl’s girl and I love it. This interview makes me want to be friends with her. The way she met her now- fiance is absolutely adorable. I guess in her case it the saying “you find love when you’re not looking” is very true. I knew Moore from the movie A Walk to Remember I saw it a few days ago on Freeform. The movie was really good and like the show, This Is Us your going to need a box of tissues! Speaking of This Is Us the episode after the Superbowl was a tearjerker! It will be a good while before I cook in a crockpot again.

Afterthoughts: Buy this issue NOW! Trust me you will not regret the purchase.

How To Make Cauliflower Buffalo Wings

Hey loves!

I have been loving cauliflower buffalo wings since trying them at California Pizza Kitchen. I went on Pinterest to see if I could find a similar recipe and I did. Click the picture below to go to the website where I got the recipe.

Ingredients

  • 1 head cauliflower cut into bite sizes
  • 1 egg scrambled with a dash of water
  • 1 cup gluten-free all purpose flour
  •  1/2 cup Frank’s RedHot® Buffalo Sauce
  • 1/3 cup butter melted

How To Make Cauliflower Buffalo Wings

First, I made an egg scramble with a dash of water to dip the cauliflower in.

This is a mix of vegan butter and buffalo sauce.

Second, I cut up the cauliflower into chunks. Third, I dipped the cauliflower into the egg scramble then I dipped them into flour. Fourth, I put the cauliflower into the cast iron pot with olive oil. Fifth, I took the golden crisp cauliflower out the pot onto a napkin before putting the cauliflower into the buffalo sauce.

My Blogging Style Evolution

Hey loves!

I have been spilling a lot of history on Caution District these past days. After a well-needed break about a week and a half ago. I told you all on Instagram that I would be putting out content “with a garyvee type hustle”. I have not gone back on that statement and I don’t plan too. I have gained quite a lot of follows in the month of January from my various social media. I want to welcome all the new followers to Caution District. I also want to thank you for your support.

In the Beginning…

Starting out my blog my post was simple short and to the point. I would write on my blog and leave WordPress to continue whatever else I was into at the time. I would post blog post whenever I see fit with no schedule. I was very into the solo style when it came to the start of my blog. I didn’t see the point in socializing with other bloggers and reading other blogs. I would write about anything that came to my mind just to get content out there. I kid you not I was looking through my older post like why would I put this out there it has nothing to do with what I’m trying to do on Caution District. I thought that if I put good content out that was all that mattered. Slowly but surely I realized that was not the case at all. Blogging is like school in a sense. If you activate and sociable the more comes your way. More people are willing to help you out and support you because they know who you are and what you represent. I love that about the blogging community, especially on WordPress.

My Blogging Style Evolution

The change of my writing style on Caution District came at the mid close to the end of 2017. Some of my the people following my blog made comments saying they wanted my post to be longer, more about who I am, and more fashion posts. I took the feedback and the next couple of the blog post was longer and I put out more Asya Alerts to updated people on what is to happen on Caution District. I also found my groove. What I mean by “groove” is my writing voice. The first couple of years I don’t think I had a voice of my own because I wasn’t completely comfortable blogging but now I adore it! I am excited for what the future holds. What were some of your challenges in the beginning of blogging?

xoxo,

Asya

How Caution District Got Its Name

Hey loves!

If you have read my first issue of Spotlight than you know a sprinkle of how my blog got its name. Even yesterday more breadcrumbs were sprinkled when I started to describe the style evolution I went through. One of the only reason for my blog was to talk about. Click on the picture down below down to see the previous post if you haven’t read them.

Enter a caption

How Caution District Goes Its Name

As I stated in Spotlight the start of my blog was in 2012. In mid-June, I had a dream which I won’t go into detail about, but let’s just say it was one hell of a dream it. The next day I created my blog. The original name of my blog was Caution Fashion District. The first couple of post was not that bad. I was constant for a couple months until school started back in the fall. I posted on my blog off and on until I stop. I stopped blogging for two years. I started back up in 2014 during the summer. I was with a friend and I was reminiscing about how I used to write a blog. Talking to her that day made me really regretful about not blogging. That every night I went home and rebrand Caution Fashion District into Caution District. I drop the Fashion because I did not want to be confined to a box where I could only talk about fashion. Caution District was a step in the right direction. I adore fashion dearly but that realm is very superficial and I don’t want my blog to have that stigma. As Caution District grew over the years the decision to change the name was a defining moment in what could come of my blog. There you have the story of Caution District. Tell me in comments how did your blog get its name!

xoxo,

Asya

How Blogging Improved My Personal Style

Hey loves!

Fashion has always been a passion of mine before I started Caution District. Fashion was one of the main reason for me starting blog. I wanted to explore the world of fashion even more on the internet. I am thankful for platforms like WordPress, Tumblr, and Pinterest because I can see how outfits are styled all over the world with a click of a button! Since starting my blog and social media it has had a huge influence on how I dress.

How Blogging Improved My Personal Style

Since starting my blog my style has changed instrumental. When I first started blogging my style was a mix of preppy girly boho. I shopped a lot at Hollister, Ross, Rue 21, and Papaya. I had no base of the style aesthetic that I wanted to convey to my audience. I just wanted to produce content about fashion. The outfits I’m going to show you are all from 2015.

I would not wear any of these outfits today. What I liked most about these photos where I didn’t try that hard when putting my outfits together. I enjoyed the clothes I was wearing and they flattered my body. During this time I was transitioning from my tomboy phrase and my style was very casual. I like simple outfits I could throw on like a skirt or some jeans. At this time I wasn’t into makeup that much. I was a fresh face with maybe one stroke of mascara. In 2016 that was different. My style had an edge to it.

This was my senior year. I was serving looks and my blog was thriving! I posted a new fashion look every day after school. I was so excited to showcase a new me. It was like overnight my style was on 100. That school year I told myself I would have no lazy days and put effort into every. I was getting such positive feedback at school, I knew the people that followed my blog enjoy the effort too! That was so true. At this time I shopped at Charlotte Russe, Forever 21, Kohl’s, and Champs. These pictures are still from 2016 down below.

slay or get eliminated

My style was on the rise. After a rough summer, I was putting it all my blog and styling outfits. I was living it up and having fun. I had only two focuses for 2017 graduation and looking good while leaving high school. I feel like if my blog and social media weren’t around my style would still be tomboyish. Having my blog and social media putting the fire under me to work hard and grow more in my personal style. The closer I got to graduation the riskier my outfit choices got!

Silk

QUEEN

My style has evolved extremely. Even to this day, I am still experimenting with ideas and different aesthetics, but unlike three years ago I now have a foundation for my style. My style is feminine with a splash of edgy and chic. I like my clothes to be youthful and flirty with a lace of mystery.

Click on the picture above to continue to see my style over the year!

Confessions of a Habitual Nail Salon Devotee

Hey loves!

My name is Asya and I am a habitual nail salon devotee. I go to the nail salon every two weeks to get my nails done. Going to the nail salon is very therapeutic. At the salon, we talk girl chat 24/7. I kid you not at the nail salon plans are being put into action! We talk about any and everything. Nothing is off limits. Last week we started off the conversation about my major in college and my visit ended with talk about bitcoin. Before I get ahead of myself let me give you some tips to save money when going out to get your nails done. Down below are my previous at-home nail care post. Be sure to check them out!

img_3370

img_3371

Confessions of a Habitual Nail Salon Devotee

  1. Always go to Google reviews or Yelp to see if the nail salon you are visiting does great service. While on the review apps they tell you what previous people said about their experience about the price, service, amenities and overall experience.
  2. Another reason why you should use Yelp especially is that there are usually discounts on there. I’ve told you this before full price is for suckers. If you get the Yelp app and check in at the nail salon on there it never fails a 10-25% discount always pops up for me.
  3. Get into a routine of getting your nails done. By routine, I mean go to the same nail salon whenever its time to get your nails done. If possible try to book the same person every time. It is important to build that relationship. I personally have been going to the same nail salon since I was 16.
  4. Building the relationship is key with your nail technician because you won’t be overcharged. I kid you not in experience the person who does my nails never charges me for anything extra that I want to get. Whether it’s a cutdown, gel on top of my acrylic, and whatever else. I pay the same flat rate every-time of 20 dollars plus the tip.
  5. Don’t fall for the up selling that some nail salons do. When I was on vacation in Miami my mom and I got finessed at a nail salon there. We got our usual which is a petite almond nail shape for me and toenail polish color change. My mom got a pedicure and gel manicure. The price ended up being 160 dollars for the both of us.
  6. Go there with a plan. If you have an idea of what you want you will not overspend on your nails.
  7. Don’t be afraid to experiment. I have got some pretty crazy nail styles over the years. Click the picture below to check them out.

xoxo,

Asya
