Asya Alert (Easter Sunday)

Hey loves!

I have been a little MIA in this past couple of days. Over this Easter weekend, I have been getting refreshed in the gospel and disconnecting from the social media world.

Before going to church this morning I felt a little confused and out of order. I have been doing well with putting out content six days out of the week to be consumed. The feedback has been positive about the changes made on Caution District. I have some new projects that I have been brewing on to implement on Caution District as well…

After church as always, I felt reenergized and ready for this spring 2018 awaking. The hibernation is over today! If you thought these past months were pack with great content think again because greater is coming!

Have an amazing Easter with your families.

Me Time

Hey loves!

As you all know I have never been shy about saying take time for mental health days, self-love and living out your passion. I strongly believe that taking time out to focus on what matters in your life will help you stay on track with your purpose. I have written several posts about different forms of self-care. If you have not read them they below check them out!

Me Time (How I Practice Self-Love)

I practice self-love on daily basis. That may seem extreme to some people but it helps me stay ground. These are some of the things I do to practice daily self-love:

  • Daily Journal: I write my dreams from the night before in a journal and also my nightly prayers.
  • Daily Yoga Practice: I practice yoga once I wake before I can go to bed, and if I can
  • squeeze in a mid-afternoon session in I do!
  • Daily Reading: I for 45 minutes every day. In my March issue, I posted my current reads so go check it out if haven’t seen the issue!
  • Excercise: Go for a walk, run, or a hike.

Asya

How To Stay Woke

Hey loves!

This is a topic that is normally not something I talk about on my blog. To be honest I use to think that ignorance is bliss when it came to these hot-button topics in the society like the social justice issues. Now I see that was a very naive and singular way of thinking.

Last year I had my lightbulb moment at school when a Black Lives Matter protest was held. This protest was a spur of the moment display of civil disobedience. We plan the protest at the beginning of the school day and held the protest three periods before class ended. It felt amazing to be apart of a movement and not just read about these issue in a textbook or online. In this protest, we all discuss how the Black Lives Matter Movement and police brutality were affecting us in our personal lives and in the community. To give some context the high school I attended was in a middle to an upper-middle-class status. Some of the flack we received for holding this protest was about how the issues don’t affect our community because “issues like police brutality doesn’t happen here”. Which is not true.

How To Stay Woke

  1. Think for yourself. When picking a social issue to support think about why you are supporting the cause. What can you do personally to help your cause get support or attention?
  2. Stay informed. Take a little time to see what is going on outside your community and your safety bubble. Just because it is not happening in your community directly doesn’t mean it is not happening at all.
  3. Learn how to release and not stay angry. I understand how frustrating it can be to see all the injustice in the world but don’t let the anger control you. Learn how to release the negative energy of injustice and make it productive energy to fuel the cause you are advocating for.

My Current Playlist (March)

Hey loves!

A new playlist is hot off the press and ready for a listen. In the Spotlight, March issue music was a new featured section added to the magazine. I am always on a constant hunt for a fresh and original artist. So many people in the music industry sound so much like each other that it is hard to pay attention to what they are trying to express.  To keep up with my evolving playlist follow me on Spotify! You won’t be disappointed.

Whose In My Playlist

As always my music playlist is very diverse. When listening to music I get inspiration from all genres and decades. Some of my current music obsessions has been Alina Baraz (Spotify), Jekayln Carr (Spotify), and Ella Mai (SoundCloud). Soundcloud is one of my go-to music apps to find new artist and podcast to listen too.

Asya Alert

Hey loves!

I had a planned blog post that I was going to release today but it didn’t seem appropriate because there are so much important topics to discuss! Like the march for our lives protest that is happening today. One thing I have learned today is that your social media platform can be used for bad and good.

What I trying to say is be on the latter! One small act can make a massive impact if the right energy and motives aline.

Signing Out Dangerously Fierce
